Hyderabad: Telangana is reeling under intense heat wave conditions with mercury levels touching a high of 45-degree Celsius in few areas of Adilabad and Nizamabad districts.

The Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad on Friday has warned that high temperatures were likely to continue with April 28 and 29 to be the hottest days in the state.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a heatwave warning for the two days stating that the heatwave conditions are expected to prevail over some parts of Telangana. Hyderabad witnessed the temperatures hitting 41 degree Celsius with the public struggling under the intense heat. As per the Telangana State Planning and Development Society (TSDPS) forecast, the maximum temperature is likely to be two to three degree Celsius above normal in the range of 39 to 44 degree Celsius at several places for the next three days.

The weather department has suggested the public take appropriate precautions if they wish to venture out of the house during the day time under the intense heat conditions.

Speaking to Sakshi, Weather scientist Raja Rao said that the humidity in Hyderabad was more than 50 percent which is the reason the heat intensity during afternoon time is reduced. However, he alerted that the heat intensity is likely to be high on April 28-29.

This season, Nizamabad has recorded the highest maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius. Ramagundam and Adilabad recorded 44 degrees while Mahabubnagar recorded 43 degrees with Bhadrachalam, Hanmakonda, and Khammam at 42 degrees Celsius.
