Family Of Yadadari Man Killed in Florida Seek Financial Aid From Govt

K Govardhan Reddy, a native from Raheemkhanpet in Atmakur mandal of Yadadri district, was shot dead by a masked man in Florida recently. His body is to reach Hyderabad on 27 February.

Govardhan worked in Pensacola city of Florida, as a counter manager. He was shot at 8 30 am Florida time. The reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained as the investigation has begun. Govardhan lived with his wife Shoba Rani and two daughters Shreya, who is in Class 10 and Tulasi, Class 7. The family is yet to come to terms with the tragedy. “My husband was the only bread-winner for our family. His salary helped feed and educate my two daughters. My daughters will take years to stand on their own feet. I have no source of income and my in-laws are elderly and dependent on us,” said his wife Shoba.

“We are in contact with our relatives in Florida. His colleagues are taking care of the paperwork for the body to be sent back to Hyderabad,” said Madhu Sudhan Reddy, a relative. The family is seeking financial help from the Telangana Government.

Govardhan’s body is currently at the mortuary of a local hospital. In the latest development, Florida police have taken three men into custody in connection with the case.
