Illegal Immigrants In Iraq Make Their Way Back Home To Telangana

Hyderabad: 14 of 15 illegal immigrants made their way back to India from Iraq after being stuck there for over 5 months. Telangana Gulf Welfare Association president, P Basanth Reddy, told an english daily that they had arrived in Delhi from Erbil in Iraq. The Immigrants headed to Hyderabad on Wednesday, and from there, will be taken to Nizamabad. Krishna a victim from Nizamabad spoke about how the agent took them from Erbil to Baghdad. “At the Baghdad border check post, we had to beg for the border patrol to send us back. Somehow we made our way to back to Erbil, and lived there with minimum resources and no jobs for these 5 months,” he said. Telangana NRI affairs official, E Chittibabu said that many illegal immigrants are taken abroad by fake agents and the immigrants have their Passports seized by the employer.
