Etela Rajender Pacifies Angry Numaish Traders

Hyderabad: President of Exhibition society and TRS MLA Etela Rajender conducted a press conference on the Numaish fire accident. He said that the source of the fire was cigarette butt which was not put out. Rajender praised the efforts of the fire department officials for their prompt response in getting the situation under control. TRS leader observed that many educational institutes function with the money raised by the exhibition. Talking about future safety measures, he added that every stall shall possess a fire extinguisher from the upcoming year and the number of fire engines will be increased from 2 to 4 in all four directions.

Rajender assured that all shop owners will be given compensation by the exhibition society, which will include boarding and lodging facilities. He said that a total of 130 owners need to be compensated and the revenue department is going to assess the damage caused.

Talking about the society's plan, he said that the exhibition will also be extended for three more days as it is being closed for two days now. Exhibition society president said that an expert agency will take up the investigation, and a review report will be taken about how to tackle such incidents in the future.

Rajendar added that most of the stores burnt in the fire were cloth stores. He added Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is going to visit the place in the afternoon.

He predicted that an electric short circuit may not be the reason behind the fire as there is already a proper underground electric system in place. TRS MLA said that the primary report will be out in two days.
