Telangana Government to Provide Rs 2000 crore Direct loans to BC Communities

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has geared up to provide direct loans of Rs 2,000 crore to backward class communities. The loans will be given to the economically backward classes and the members who are eligible in BC Communities.

The official launch of this programme will be held on the occasion of Independence Day. The loans will be directly provided by the government and also fully subsidized, BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna and Finance Minister Etela Rajender have said.

The ministers announced the decision in a meeting which was held in the finance minister's residence. Nayee Brahmin communities and the representatives of Rajakas participated in this meeting. The meeting was held on the instructions of the Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao. He asked ministers to discuss with the BC communities for providing financial assistance, according to a press release of Finance Minister's office.

They clarified that the beneficiaries from the communities will be selected in a transparent manner. "The primary criteria will be the financially empowering the members of BC communities," they said.

Caution to BCs

The ministers urged the members of BC community not to trust the middlemen who make false promises.

Minister Rajender said the KCR had a complete understanding of the problems faced by the BC communities in the state.

No banks will be involved in this scheme of issuing where the government will be directly given the loans. Former minister Basvaraj Saraiah, principal secretary of BC Welfare Burra Venkatesam and representatives from BC communities attended the meeting which was held on Sunday.
