G Kishan Reddy,  - Sakshi Post

New Delhi/Hyderabad: Within a day after taking charge as Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kishan Reddy has already stoked controversy by terming Hyderabad as a “hub for terrorists”. MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi was quick to hit back at the Union Minister. As Kishan Reddy’s comments are whipping up a political storm, Home Minister Amit Shah also reportedly pulled his deputy on his remarks.

The Secunderabad MP who has been inducted into the Union Cabinet in a way set the tone for what kind of remarks and language is expected from him in the days to come being in an all important Home Ministry. With the buzz that Amit Shah as Home Minister may alter the contentious Article 370 and Article 35A that give greater powers to the State of Jammu and Kashmir, which is likely to have a backlash in the country, MoS Kishan Reddy’s controversial comments can be seen as a preview to controversial and tough decision awaited from his Ministry.

MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi alleged that Kishan Reddy’s statements point to BJP’s anti-Telangana and anti-Hyderabad view. Such statements, he said, would have a debilitating effect on the investments in Hyderabad. He also said such controversial remarks from Ministers expose BJP’s mindset that the party is against Muslims in the country.

Meanwhile, Kishan Reddy said he was quoted out of context and his remarks were misconstrued. However that ‘clarification’ did not save him from wrath of his higher up Amit Shah. He was reportedly pulled up by Shah who suggested to him not to indulge in any controversy.
