Congress Slams Telangana Government Over Cabinet Decision Delay

AICC Spokesperson Dr. Sravan Dasoju Inset:  Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Spokesperson Dr. Sravan Dasoju exhibited his ire over the violation of the Constitution with regard to the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao not forming the Cabinet even after a month after the elections in Telangana.

He described it as a violation of Constitution of India and also sought Governor ESL Narasimhan's intervention in this matter since he is the constitutional head of the state. He said that Article 164 (1A) of the Constitution says that the total number of Ministers, including the Chief Minister, in the Council of Ministers in a State shall not exceed 15% of the total number of members of the Legislative Assembly of that State, provided that the number of Ministers, including the Chief Minister in a State shall not be less than twelve. On the other hand, the present government as of now has only the Chief Minister and Home Minister functioning and it is nothing but a gross violation of the Constitution. He also questioned as to how a Government could function without a Finance Minister for so long when so many decisions have to be taken after assuming power by the cabinet.

Panchayat Elections

Sravan also expressed his happiness over the Congress party's performance in the Panchayat Raj elections. He also said that the some of the candidates who won were actually Congress Party candidates that the ruling TRS party had taken into their fold before the elections. He also requested his party workers to work hard for the party's victory in the upcoming second and third phase Panchayat elections and also said that the Congress will see good days and that Panchayat Elections are a proof to that victory, he added.

He also alleged that though the TRS party had resorted to unfair practices in the Assembly and won the elections, the Panchayat elections had given a significant boost to the party morale. Accusing the party of indulging in EVM hacking in the elections, he requested the Election Commission and the government to introduce ballot paper in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections before the people lost their faith in democracy.
