Prithvi Shaw’s ligament injury was nothing short of a debacle for the Indian top-order during the Test series. However, the injured player assured his fans, “I will be fit before the Indian Premier League and I am trying hard to reach full fitness. I am working on my ankle as well as on my upper body.”

The 19-year-old, became the youngest Indian batsman to score a ton on his first Test, with averages at an incredible 118.5 from his two Tests and even scored a fifty in the warm-up match with Australia. Prithvi Shaw broke the previous record set by Abbas Ali Baig by scoring a century at the age of 18, in Rajkot against West Indies.

However, after his injury he was dropped from the Test series but his words of reassurance will come as a big boost to his IPL franschise Delhi Capitals adding to his hopes to kickstart his international career.

“It was an unfortunate incident and you can’t really do anything about that. It was my wish to play in the challenging conditions in Australia. I love the bounce there. But unfortunately, I suffered a leg injury. But that’s okay, I am very happy that India won the Test series. It can’t get better than this,” Shaw added. The Mumbai batsman is currently in National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru recovering from his injury.
