KTR Attacks Centre For Injustice To Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) working president K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) accused the Centre of doing injustice in fund allocation to Telangana. Addressing the media here at Telangana Bhavan, KTR said the Central government was ignoring the State as the State's BJP lacked significance.

KTR alleged that the BJP-led Central government was not co-operating for the construction of Telangana's irrigation projects. Despite the NITI Aayog's praise for Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya schemes, the Centre is not allocating funds, he added.

"While on one side the Centre is praising Telangana's initiatives, financial assistance is being denied. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Mission Bhagiratha in his 'Mann Ki Baat' program. We only have praise but no money for schemes."

KTR further alleged that the Centre did not even recognise one of the Telangana irrigation projects as a national project. Asked about KCR's Federal Front initiative, KTR said the more important issue was the Centre's assistance to the State.
