Can Homams Help TRS Form Government in Telangana?
Hyderabad: Telangana caretaker Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) performed two homams at his farmhouse in Erravelli village, in the city outskirts ahead of the commencement of his second leg of election campaign in the State. On the auspicious occasion of Karthika masam, the TRS supremo performed the homams--raja syamala sahitha chandi homam and rudra sahitha chandi homam, seeking Goddess Saraswati's blessings for the December 7 elections.
KCR, who is known for his religious and spiritual sentiments, held a five-day chandi yagam back in 2015 to banish evil forces causing developmental hurdles in the newly-formed State. The latest prayers in KCR's farmhouse were performed by 120 priests. The homams would be followed by the launch of the TRS chief's marathon public meetings in the lead up to the polling date.
Starting with public meetings in Palakurthy and Khammam, the caretaker Chief Minister will try wooing the voters across 66 Telangana constituencies until December 5. The TRS leadership is planning to organise a massive rally in Secunderabad's parade grounds, where KCR proposed to build the new Secretariat.
