Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy Tears Into KCR On False Promises

Former minister and co-chairman of the Telangana Congress Manifesto Committee, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Former minister and co-chairman of the Telangana Congress Manifesto Committee, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy hit out at caretaker Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for making false promises to the youth of the state on unemployment allowance. The senior Congress commented that KCR had earlier remarked that such an allowance was not a feasible idea. How did he now find it worth implementing, he questioned.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy further said that the youth of Telangana would not be deceived by KCR's false assurances. Echoing TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy's statement, he said that the TRS had simply copied the Congress manifesto on all counts. He also accused the TRS of being unable to deliver on its 2014 election promises.

The senior Congress leader asked KCR and KTR as to what they had to say now, reminding them of their earlier statements that the combined budget of the states of south India would not suffice for the Congress assurances. He also questioned TRS leadership's silence on the scrapping of contributory pension scheme.

KCR, who had promised to waive loans in the past, imposed interest burden on farmers by doing so in four installments, he said. Komatireddy took a dig at TRS saying that the loan waiver it offered had helped bankers alone.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that Congress would waive 2 lakh loans at one stroke. He reminded the people of the state that the party had done so in the past. The senior Congress leader predicted that people would trust the Congress and vote it to power this time around. He questioned KCR on why he did not expose Congress corruption in al the four years of TRS rule.

Komatireddy also asserted that the Congress would review decisions taken by the KCR government once it assumes power in the state. People will not believe KCR when he says that the TRS would build two bedroom houses this time, since the government did not deliver on its promise in the first term, he added.
