BJP Satyagraha In Telangana Over Double Bedroom Houses

BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and MP Bandaru Dattatreya today criticized the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for failing to deliver on their promise of building double bedroom houses for the poor. Speaking to media at the party office here, he said despite the Centre allotting funds for the scheme, the State government did not provide houses to the poor. He added that the TRS government was given additional funds through the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO).

Dattatreya said that caretaker IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) was responsible for the diversion of Centre's funds for the housing scheme. He threatened to stage agitations across the State in protest against the government's laxity in implementing the scheme. Next month, we will stage a Satyagraha in Telangana, he added.

Responding to Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad's claims that the Congress was the sole reason behind the Statehood for Telangana, he said that it was the BJP which passed the first ever political resolution for the formation of the State. He reminded that the sacrifices of the people of the State made Telangana possible.

"The then Congress government was responsible for the killing of 369 people, who died in police attacks. The TRS, Congress and TDP have been involved in vote bank politics for a long time now. While the family members of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are leading a normal life like most of the citizens, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are out on bail in National herald case," he commented.
