TRS To Spend Rs 2000 Cr On Polls: Revanth Reddy’s Sensational Remarks
Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leader, Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was about to spend Rs 10 crore on all the contestants from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the upcoming elections. Speaking to media at Gandhi Bhavan here today, Revanth Reddy, along with Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council, Mohammed Shabbir Ali, lashed out at the TRS Chief for ignoring the irrigation facilities for the farmers.
Revanth Reddy said that the reservoirs of the Godavari Basin were getting lower inflow of water. Out of the 17 tmc capacity in the Nizamsagar project, only 2 tmc was filled, while in the Lower Manair dam, only 3 tmc was filled out of its capacity of 24 tmc, he added. "Several farmers did not cultivate paddy crop across the State," he observed.
Adding that the TRS would not be able to mobilize 25 lakh people for the 'Pragathi Nivedana Sabha', Revanth Reddy said that severe parking and traffic problems would be created for normal public.
Congress MLC Shabbir Ali said that the Telangana CM promised to provide Rs 10 crore to candidates for all constituencies for the upcoming elections. In addition to the Rs 1,200 crore for the constituencies, the TRS is getting ready to spend another Rs 800 crore for KCR's election campaign, he added.
MLA Revanth Reddy demanded that investigative agencies should take up a probe into the TRS party's funding. He said that the Congress was ready for early elections.
