TDP Minister Protects Sexual Offender, Girl Approaches YS Jagan
Visakhapatnam: A girl student from the Visakha Vocational Junior College approached Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for justice over the sexual harassment by the college Director, Kumar, at Dhara Bhogapuram in Rambilli Mandal in the district on Saturday. She alleged that College Correspondent Glory alias Gowry was supporting Kumar. Adding that even though she lodged protests with student unions and filed a complaint with the police, she said that the Director was being protected by the supporters of Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.
The girls said that the careers of 250 students were at stake, with the General Nursing Midwife Exam scheduled in November, while the college is yet to be recognised. She pleaded that the culprits be severely punished.
Later, YSRCP coordinator for Anakapalli parliamentary constituency Varudhu Kalyani said that women's safety was a rising problem in the region. Vizag City's party Youth Wing president Konda Rajiv Gandhi said that Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and MLA Vasupalli Ganesh were supporting the offenders in the district. In this regard, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy will complain to the district Collector on Monday, he added.
