Telangana Irrigation Advisor R Vidyasagar Rao Is No More
Hyderabad: Irrigation expert and advisor on irrigation to the Telangana government R Vidyasagar Rao on Saturday breathed his last at Continental Hospitals in Hyderabad. Battling with cancer for the last eight months, Vidyasagar was declared dead by doctors at 11.23 am.
He was admitted to a private hospital on April 23 following severe health complications. A former member of Central Water Commission, Vidyasagar was instrumental in highlighting the injustice done to the Telangana region in the field of irrigation in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh.
A native of Jajireddygudem in Nalgonda district, Vidyasagar had graduated in engineering from Osmania University.
Besides working with idealogue of Telangana movement Professor Jayashanker, Vidyasagar Rao had conducted scores of seminars on irrigation-related issues during the time of separate statehood movement.
Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao condoled the death of Vidyasagar Rao. It may recalled that Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao had called on ailing Vidyasagar Rao at the hospital couple of days ago.
