Telangana govt seeks legal opinion on scrapping of TS EAMCET-2
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is exploring ways on whether to cancel the TS EAMCET-2 and reconduct the exam again or detaining the culprits, while going ahead with the rest of the process. TRS government is believed to have sought legal opinion about the cancelation of EAMCET-2.
According to the sources, senior officials have advised the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao to cancel the exam.Even if the paper was leaked to one student, the exam is entitled for cancelation, opine legal experts. On the other side, rankers and majority of qualifiers demand continuation of admission process without canceling the exam.
As per the MCI norms, the admissions should be completed by September 30.If EAMCET-3 is conducted, then it has to be in August and rankers should be announced. it would take 10 days for certificates verification. it would take 20 days for three phases of counseling. If time is not sufficient, then the state government has take 10 days of additional time from Supreme Court.
Rajeshwar Tiwari, Principal Secretary at Medical and Health Department, said: “It can’tbe seen on sympathy ground as the question paper was leaked. As per the laws, the exam has to be canceled, if it’s leaked.”
In case of cancelation, Kaloji Health University has made some suggestions to the government. As per the MCI norms, the admissions should be completed by September 30.
