Telangana Govt. Plans To Make OU Centenary Celebrations Memorable
Hyderabad: The centenary celebrations for Osmania University will be held for three-days, between April 26 to 28, 2017. The state government is planning to use this as an opportunity to highlight Telangana culture, it is being reported.
Addressing media persons on Friday, Deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari said nearly 28 committees have been formed to look into the arrangements for the occasion such as the reception committee, organizing committee, finance committee and estimates committee. He revealed that either the President or Prime Minister would be invited for the celebrations.

In order to make the centenary a remarkable fete, the state government has come forward to help the cash strapped university by offering help with restoration works to revamp its look.
Telangana culture will be highlighted during the centenary celebrations, and on the special occasion the Centre for Telangana Studies would come into existence.
“More than one crore students have graduated from this university and have brought laurels to it. Invitations will be sent to all the old students of OU,” said Srihari.
The meeting was attended by MP Keshav Rao, OU vice-chancellor Prof Ramachandram and others.
