Telangana Govt Issues Draft Notification On New Districts
Hyderabad: Telangana government on Monday released a draft notification on reorganization of districts in the State and GO:194 for guidelines. The notification pertains to nine existing districts except Hyderabad which will remain unchanged.
The new draft comprising a proposal on 27 districts, 58 revenue divisions.
Telangana government seeks public opinion and suggestions on the new districts and revenue divisions. The government has asked people to submit their suggestions at Collectorates and revenue division offices. Telangana has 44 revenue divisions and 459 mandals.
As per the draft notification, there will be 27 districts, 58 revenue divisions and 490 mandals in the state.
Earlier, Telangana government thought of creating 74 new mandals, but later reduced it to 31 based on population. After this change, the total number of mandals will be 490 as per the draft notification.
The government has given 30 days time for public to come up with their suggestions, grievances and opinions. New districts will come into existence from Dassera onwards.
Generally, for any sort of
notifications the revenue department will issue GOs. But, on district
reorganization, the State government has created a separate portal on
this. For the first time, Telangana government has created an
exclusive portal to receive public opinions on reorganization of
districts. The new portal facilitates public to post their grievances
and suggestions online to the State government. Public can use the
