Telangana DGP reviews arrangements for 'Medaram Jaatharaa'
Warangal: Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Sunday reviewed arrangements for the 'Medaram Jaatharaa' to be held in February.
Around one crore people are expected to take part in the fair. Sharma advised police personnel to ensure that pilgrims are sent in queues so that no untoward incident takes place. After vising the bathing ghats, the Telangana police chief gave directions to avoid stampede on the Jaatharaa days. Police should work hard and take inspiration from the success of Godavari Pushkaralu to make Medaram Sammakka Saarakka Jaatharaa also a success, Anurag Sharma said.
This is the first time the fair will be held in the new state of Telangana.
