Telangana Budget 2016-17 Highlights
The annual budget 2016-17 for Telangana state was presented on Monday in Telangana legislative Assembly. Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Etela Rajender termed the budget as a rational, pragmatic fiscal plan to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Telangana. He said achieving a 'Golden Telangana' was Government's aim.
The total budgetary outlay was pegged at Rs 1,30,415 crore. Of this, the planned expenditure is to a tune of Rs 67,630.73 crore, while Rs 62,785.14 crore is the non-plan component. The total fiscal deficit is of the order of Rs 23, 467.29 crore,which 3.5 percent of the estimated GSDP .
Here are the major allocations in the annual budget:
Irrigation projects - Rs 25000 crore
Mission Bhagiratha - Rs 40000 crore
Health sector - Rs 5967 crore
Education sector - Rs 1694 crore of planned expenditure and Rs 9044 crore of planned expenditure
SC welfare - Rs 7122 crore
ST welfare - Rs 3552 crore
BC welfare - Rs 2538 crore
Aasara pensions - Rs 4693 crore
Kalyana Lakshmi scheme - Rs 738 crore
Women and Child Welfare - Rs 1553 crore
Brahmin Welfare Corporation - Rs 100 crore
Roads and Buildings - Rs 3333 crore
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development - Rs 10731 crore
Urban Development - Rs 4815 crore
Industries - Rs 967 crore
IT and Communications - Rs 254 crore
Special Develpment Fund - Rs 4675 crore
