Teenager gangraped in Ananthapur

A teenager was allegedly gang-raped by four men in Dharmavaram of Ananthapur district, police said on Tuesday.

When the victim, 19-year girl, informed her parents about the gruesome incident, her parents lodged a complaint with the police.
Accordingly, she was gang-raped by four men and they threatened to kill her if she lodges the complaint. Police arrested Venkatesh, one of the accused persons, while others were absconding.
"A case on the basis of the victim's statement was registered. Teams are sent to nab the three accused, who are known to the victim," police said. Meanwhile, Student organisations held protest demonstrations demanding severe punishment to the accused.
