Teacher stuffs girl into locker, another thrashes 8-yr-old
Teachers seem to be taking the dictum of 'spare the rod, spoil the child' far too seriously. Two incidents of teachers resorting to excesses on the same day have shocked the parents.
In Venkatapuram village of Medak district, an anganwadi teacher allegedly stuffed an 5-year-old in a locker for chatting while she was teaching.
This caused breathing problem to the child and she fell unconscious. An ayah saw the girl and brought her out. She had to be rushed to a nearby hospital where she is kept under observation. Protesting against the teacher's inhuman behavior, the villagers staged a dharna at the anganwadi centre. The girl is identified as Durga Bhavani.
The teacher is ironically Yashoda, the name of Lord Krishna's step mother who took good care of him.
In another incident, a teacher of Prathibha school in Vizianagaram thrashed a class-II student for not doing home work. The parents and relatives of the child staged a protest in front of the school.
