Independent candidates Papannagari Manik Reddy found the goof-up in the ballot paper immediately after the polling began at 8am and complained to the State Election Commission officials. Another independent candidate Aadhi Laxmaiah's photo was printed in the place of Manik Reddy's column.

However, the EC officials did not stop the polling process. From TRS, Katepally Janardhan Reddy is in the fray for the Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahabub Nagar Teachers constituency.
