Teacher blindly thrashes 3 visually-impaired children
Three visually-impaired students of a school in Kakinada, were inhumanly thrashed by the correspondent, who too was blind. The whole thrashing was captured on camera by an inmate and both the principal and the correspondent have since been arrested.
This incident happened on July 18 in Greenfield Residential School in Kakinada. But came to light only today after the video footage was out.
The footage shows blind boys, all below 10 years of age, crying, touching his feet and begging him to spare them. Yet, the correspondent went on caning them.
When the children begged the teacher to spare them, he banged one of the student heads to the floor. He sat on the hapless boy and canned him continuously.
It is said that such incidents are of regular occurrence in the institute, which claims it is a charitable body.
The are are more than 60 children in the charity home. When contacted the correspondent defended himself and said that this is nothing but teaching them discipline.
In the video footage, it is clearly seen that the principal was also seen handing over the child to the angry teacher and helping him assault. Some members from the student organisations thrashed him black and blue.
There have been protests by parents following the cruel act. These children is said to be from the socio-economically backward classes.
The police took both the principal and the correspondent into their custody. The State Human Rights Commission has taken up suo-motu case against the teacher.
