T Cong MPs stage dharna in front of Parliament - Sakshi Post

Congress MPs from the Telangana region abstained from the opening day of the winter session of Lok Sabha on Thursday despite a whip being issued on attendance and sat in a dharna before the main gate of Parliament demanding formation of separate Telangana state.

As pressure was mounting  on the party’s elected representatives from the people of their respective constituencies MPs -  Madhu Yaskhi Goud, Ponnam Prabhakar,  G Viveknanda, M Jagannath, Sukender Reddy Gutha and S Rajaiah - sat on the steps of the main gate of Parliament and raised slogans in support of their demand for a separate Telangana state.

They also carried placards which read "Delay is denial of Telangana" and "Implement UPA's promise of introduction bill on Telangana".

The Congress Party  issued a whip to their members to be present in Lok Sabha on Thursday when the important bills related come up for discussion and to vote in their favour.

However, the MPs decided to violate the whip of the party and push the government in to corner on the issue.
