Supreme Court refuses to stay AP division - Sakshi Post

Supreme Court refused to issue a stay on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

It said it cannot interfere in the matter. However, the apex court issued notices to the Government of India to give its reply within six weeks on the matter. The hearing on the case is adjourned to August 28.

Earlier, some political leaders and advocates moved the court asking it to issue a stay on the process of bifurcation of the state. But, the court declined saying that it was not the right time to do so. After both the houses of Parliament approved the T - bill, a petition was filed in the court to impose a stay on bifurcation of the state.
