Shobhamma was like my sister, vote for her : YS Jagan - Sakshi Post

YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday appealed to the voters of Allagadda, to vote for departed YSRCP leader Shobha Nagireddy as a mark of tribute to her.  (Jagan's speech in Kurnool)

YS Jagan said that for the first time in the country's history, an election is being held where a person who is no longer with us is a candidate.  "Today, Shobhamma is not with us. But we also know that by elections will be held for Allagadda, I am requesting you to help her win with a big majority. I don't have an elder sister (akka), but Shobhamma was like my 'akka'. I am appealing to you to vote for her," YS Jagan said even as crowds erupted in a roar of approval.  (Shobha Nagi Reddy's last interview)

Shobha was severely injured when her car overturned four times as she was returning home after participating in the electioneering. Grievously injured in the accident she succumbed to her injuries on April 24.

Braving the heat and dust, Shobha's two daughters are campaigning vigorously for their late mother.

Previously, EC had issued a clarification saying that Sobha's name will not be deleted from the EVMs. This rule of the Conduct of Elections Rules Act of 1961 had shocked the opponents..
