Supreme Court 'no' to Jagan bail plea

The Supreme Court today rejected the bail application of YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. Jagan moved the bail plea before the  apex court on September 14, which was adjourned to September 28 on the request of the CBI.

Subsequently, the CBI changed its counsel twice and last time the agency’s lawyer wanted the case to be adjourned as he did not come prepared to the court. Hence, the court had adjourned the case to today.

Totally dismissing the CBI argument, Jagan’s counsel Gopala Subrahmanyam told the court that the agency could not produce any proof to support its case and that Jagan had been in jail for the past 132 days and that he deserved to be granted bail. The court, however, did not agree with Jagan’s counsel and dismissed his petition.
