Summer Box Office King: Rangasthalam Or Bharat Ane Nenu?  

Two big budget films have released this year—One at the end of March and another around mid April. Yes, we are talking about Telugu flicks which are unstoppable at the box office—Ram Charan's Rangasthalam and Mahesh Babu's Bharath Ane Nenu. Charan and Mahesh have given a perfect summer treat to the audiences this holiday season.

Both the films are doing incredible business not only in India but in other parts of the world too. Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nenu have set new benchmarks at the box office. Bharat Ane Nenu is a recently released film and completed 6 days of its run at the box office. But let me tell you, at Chennai box office alone, the Mahesh starrer has surpassed Rangasthalam collections with the opening day earnings of Rs 27 lakhs. In rest of the areas, Bharat Ane Nenu has failed to break Rangasthalam collections which is yet to complete thirty days of its release.

Now, with both the films doing incredible business post release, trade pundits are having a hard time betting which film will rake in the most moolah and finally emerge as the summer box office winner!

We know it's too early to draw conclusions but we will wait for lifetime collections of both the films to reach a verdict. By now, most Telugu movie buffs must have watched Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nenu which were both political thrillers alright but had their own flavour to lend.

Rangasthalam is a rural revenge drama set in the 80s. Even Charan chose a different type of character—to play a deaf person which left his fans in awe. Audiences will get a rare chance to see the actor playing this kind of role which is a rarity.Perhaps Sukumar chose the right actor to play Chitti Babu. Even Charan's colleagues from the film fraternity have stated that nobody could have pulled of such a role like the Mega power star!

Rangasthalam is directed by Sukumar and stars Samantha, Aadhi, Anasuya and Prakash raj in key roles.

On the other hand, Bharat Ane Nenu too is a political thriller where Mahesh Babu has portrayed the role of a young Chief Minister. In one word, Mahesh's Chief Minister's itself is an eye feast to the audiences. Bharat Ane Nenu has powerful content not to mention the punch dialogues in trademark Koratala style delivered by Mahesh to the T. Bharat Ane Nenu is helmed by Koratala Siva featuring Kiara Advani, Sharath Kumar and Prakash Raj in key roles

Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nenu are the biggest blockbuster hits of 2018 after Varun Tej's Tholi Prema and Naga Shourya's Chalo did decent business at the ticket window. Ram Charan and Mahesh Babu who have been waiting for blockbuster hits since long are on cloud nine following the film's success. Finally, after seeing the success of both the films, Mahesh and Cherry are riding high in their respective careers.

Meanwhile, Ram Charan is currently busy with the shoot of his yet to be titled flick which is being directed by Boyapati. On the other side, Mahesh Babu will be soon join the shoot of the untitled film to be directed by Sukumar.
