Sujana Chowdary quits after row over absence

One of three Rajya Sabha members of the  Telugu Desam Party (TDP), who were absent during the vote on the FDI Bill in the upper house of parliament, Sunday sent his resignation to party president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Y. Sujana Chowdary told reporters that he has sent his resignation from the Rajya Sabha membership to Naidu. The industrialist-politician said the party president had not asked him to quit but he was hurt over the remarks made by a section of the party leaders despite his clarification.

The absence of Chowdary along with T. Devender Goud and Gundu Sudha Rani during the vote in the upper house on Friday has created a ruckus in the party with a section of leaders seeking strong action against them.
