'Students must clean their toilets'

“Students are responsible for cleaning their own bathrooms,” said Special Chief Secretary (Primary Education and Sarva Siksha Abhiyan) Chandana Khan in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Sources said that many leaders opposed her statements. He further added that it is difficult to provide functional toilets to every school in the state. As a consequence, many students are dropping out due to lack of toilet facilities in the state schools.

Many schools in the state are suffering due to the lack of toilets though the Supreme Court has ordered that the government should provide drinking water, toilets and clean environment to the schools.
