Hyderabad jubilant after Narang's first Olympic medal
So what if Jwala lost the opener, the city denizens have more reason to cheer as Saina and Narang have proved their mettle.
Celebrations have began back home with 29-year-old, Gagan Narang who hails from Hyderabad having won India's first Olympic medal. He has given the India its first Olympic medal after winning the bronze medal in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event today.
“It is like a huge stone is off my chest. I had not managed to qualify for the finals in the last two Olympics and that was really painful. But now I am happy to have finally won an Olympic medal," Narang told reporters in London.
"It still doesn't feel like I have won an Olympic medal. This medal has evaded me and I have finally got it," he further added.
With this feat, Narang has lived up to the expectations of fellow Indians who badly wanted a medal after Jwala's dismal performance.
