State Government Has Completely Ignored The Welfare Of Farmers: YS Jagan

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: The TDP government in the state is not committed to the welfare of farmers and is turning a blind eye to their plight, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

Addressing the media after the special session of the AP Assembly here on Tuesday, he said the state government has shown a lot appreciation for badminton champ PV Sindhu but a fraction of that concern was not seen when addressing the concerns of the farmers. "There is nothing wrong in applauding a successful sportswoman but farmers are resorting to suicides because they are not getting minimum price for their produce," he said.

The government only gave Rs 2 crore to the mirchi farmers so far, he said and added that further the mirchi yard has been given holidays beginning Tuesday. "If chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is committed for the welfare of farmers, will he order closure of the mirchi yard?" questioned the opposition leader. He said the Government must set up a price stabilisation fund with Rs 5000 crore as promised during the 2014 elections.

Incidentally, the AP Assembly approved a bill regarding the appointment of PV Sindhu as deputy collector.
