In a ghastly road mishap, as many as six persons died and another nine suffered critical injuries in Tukkulur village of Nuzvid mandal in Krishna district on Wednesday night.
According to the police, as many as 20 dailywagers from Station Thota in Nuzvid town left for Gubbala Mangamma Talli temple on Wednesday evening. They left in two Tata Ace vechiles. However, one of the vehicles developed a snag and the driver was trying to change the tyre. As a result, the dailywagers got down from both the vehicles and stood on the side of the road. At that instant, another vehicle coming from Nuzvid mowed them down. While six persons died on the spot, the others suffered critical injuries.
The police rushed to the spot and shfted the injured to the hospital.
