Speaker adjourns hearing of TDP rebel MLAs

State Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of disqualification petitions pending against the two TDP rebel MLAs for violating the party whip, to May 18.

The two rebel MLAs Venugopala Chary and Harishwar Reddy have appeared before the Speaker for the enquiry. Venugopala Chary said that he did not receive the party whip and clarified that he attended before the Speaker for his respect towards democratic system.

He told the Speaker that he has been suspended by the party, but not received the orders.

He said that he had resigned from the party as he was differed the TDP's stance on Telangana.
