Solar power price fixed at Rs 6.49 per unit

The cabinet sub-committee on Tuesday finalised the purchasing price of solar power at Rs 6.49 per unit.

The cabinet panel which met at Lake View Guest House in Hyderabad on Tuesday discussed about the purchasing price of solar power and scrutinized bids filed by about 300 solar companies. The government decided to install solar energy units on roof-tops of the blocks in the Secretariat in the first phase and continue the same on the roof-tops of private buildings across the state in phases. About 300 bids have been filed so far. The cabinet sub-committee will decide on the purchase of solar power in the next meeting.
