Software Engineer Attempts To Kill Wife In Miyapur 

Hyderabad: A software engineer working in an MNC in Hitec City attempted to kill his wife at their home in Miyapur on Tuesday.

According to a complaint lodged by the woman's father at Miyapur police station, the man, Brahmeshwar, had been torturing his wife Pushpasri ever since their marriage some six years back. As she could not conceive, of late he increased harassment even further. He would beat her quite often on petty reasons.

On Tuesday, he picked a quarrel on some such reason and beat her severely. After she lost conscious, he pressed his foot on her neck with an intention to kill her, the police said.

As Pushpasri fell unconscious, Brahmeshwar thought he was dead and dragged her outside the flat and locked it and went absconding. Only when the neighbors noticed her lying unconscious outside her flat in Friends Colony, they shifted her to a hospital and informed her parents in Vijayawada. Parents arrived in Hyderabad and lodged a complaint.

Miyapur police said a case was booked against Brahmeshwar unders sections 307 and 498(A) for attempt to murder and dowry harassment respectively. Pushpasri is recovering at a private hospital.

A manhunt is on for the absconding Brahmeshwar, police said.
