Another reversal - Sakshi Post

As many as six Maoists were shot dead in an intense gunfight with security forces in Jharkhand on Wednesday. The incident occurred in the Maoist-infested Chhipadohar area of the Latehar district.

This is a big success for the police. Police have succeeded in neutralising Maoists in a tough terrain.

The police have recovered all the six bodies. According to Inspector General of Police (Operations) MS Bhatia, combing is still on. He said there was a likelihood of more Naxals being injured and hence the combing.

"This is a big success for the police. Police have succeeded in neutralising Maoists in a tough terrain," said Bhatia.

The incident is being seen as a major setback for the Naxals, who are said to be quite active in 18 of the 24 districts in the state.

This is the fourth major setback to the Maoists in the last two months. The first was in Andhra Odisha Border, where 32 Maoists were killed. This was followed by two major encounters in Chhattisgarh.
