As many as six persons were killed and two others suffered grievous injuries when a taxi they were travelling in turned turtle on the Eastern Freeway towards south Mumbai on Saturday morning. The occupants of the cab included three women, two children and men. There were nine people in the Santro vehicle that met with the accident.

The accident occurred around 9 am and severely hit the morning peak hour traffic towards the central business districts and other parts of the city.

The injured were rushed to Sir JJ Hospital for treatment and the cause of the incident is being probed by Dongri Police.
