Bheemrao’s body was found in the bushes off the road

Manchiryala: A Singareni coal mines worker was killed by unidentified persons in the early hours of Wednesday in Mandamarri.

Bheemrao(50), a miner at RK-1A, was on his way for work at around 6am when he was waylaid by the miscreants and then killed by slitting his throat.

The police conducted a panchanama and shifted the body for post-mortem.

The incident triggered panic in the region as Singareni collieries elections are scheduled for Thursday.

Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha is contesting for the top post of the Singareni workers union from Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) panel. All other trade unions including AITUC, INTUC, etc. joined hands to face the ruling TRS affiliated TBGKS. The campaign by parties which went on on a feverish pitch for two weeks came to a close only on Monday.

Deceased Bheemrao was not known to be active in politics. An investigation is underway.
