Shankar Rao gets anticipatory bail

In a major relief to former minister and Cantonment MLA P Shankar Rao, the Namapalli court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to him, in connection with the Green Field land scam.

Shankar Rao is accused of grabbing 875 plots in Green Fields Colony using fake documents in Khanajiguda village. Cases have been booked against him under section 120B, 420, 367 and 468 of the IPC.

However, the court asked the former minister to cooperate with the police to take out investigation.
