Sex Determination Racket Busted In Yacharam

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police have busted a sex determination racket near Yacharam here in the city and have arrested seven RMP doctors including a woman.
According to the police, the members of the racket lure pregnant women from the neighbouring villages in Yacharam to undergo sex determination tests at an unauthorised medical clinic.
N Kumara Swamy (37), an RMP doctor and a resident of Nalgonda, his wife Saritha (35), Mallesh, Venkatesham, G Srinivas and Ravi alias Ramesh were arrested. The police are on the lookout for two others who had supplied the scanning equipment.
The police said that Kumara Swamy, who has 17 years of experience in the field, had decided to earn quick buck by setting up the clinic. With his contacts in the field, he started sharing good amount of money to the agents and doctors who bring women to his clinic for the tests. As sex determination is illegal, he used to charge exorbitant prices from the clients.
