New Delhi: In what could be seen as a major setback to AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the Supreme Court issued notices to him in the Cash for Votes case.

The Supreme Court, which took up a petition filed by YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, issued a notice to Chandrababu Naidu. Alla Ramakrishna Reddy filed a petition arguing that the Cash for Votes issue falls under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

It may be recalled that TDP MLA in Telangana Revanth Reddy was caught red-handed on video tapes trying to offer a bribe to Anglo Indian MLA Stephenson to vote for TDP MLC candidate. In the audio tapes, Chandrababu Naidu's voice is clearly heard. Even the forensic lab tests, the voice was shown to be that of Chandrababu. Based on this MLA RK filed a case.

Reacting to the Supreme Court notices, MLA RK said that Chandrababu has done great injustice to the state of Andhra Pradesh to extricate himself out of the case. "This is a major setback to Chandrababu. This is a welcome augury for the state," he said.
