SBI manager swindles Rs 1.83 cr, arrested
A manager working with State Bank of India (SBI) was taken into custody on Monday following embezzlement of funds to the tune of Rs 1.83 crore.
Varanasi Balakrishna, SBI Manager of Ramabhdrapuram in Saluru of Vizianagaram district was arrested as he withdrew Rs 1.83 crore from the fake lending accounts created on various benami names. Police said the manager got a message to his mobile phone that he secured a lottery of Rs 2.93 crore and lured by the offer, he paid Rs 1.83 crore to the lottery company by creating fake loans. CI M Butchi Raju took the manager into custody and is investigating the case.
