‘Sasikala Kidnapped Me’, Alleges MLA Who Joined OPS Camp
Chennai: Even as the Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to entertain Sasikala's plea seeking more time to surrender and go to jail to serve a four-year jail term accorded to her in the disproportionate assets case, one of the MLAs who escaped from the Golden Bay resort to join O Paneerselvam has filed a kidnapping case against Sasikala.
AIADMK Madurai (South) MLA S S Saravanan, who joined the caretaker Chief Minister Panneerselvam’s faction filed a complaint against Sasikala and now-AIADMK Legislature Party leader K Palanisamy in Kuvathur Police Station.
He claimed that the MLAs at the Koovathur resort were being traumatised. They were isolated in one place and were affected emotionally, he said and added that they were attending phone calls and were active on social media and backing Sasikala’s rival OPS.
However when the police met and interviewed about 112 MLAs earlier at the resort, all of them claimed they were there on their own accord. They even signed an affidavit which was submitted to the High Court. It remains to be seen how the kidnapping case will be treated in the light of the earlier affidavit.
