Sarve Satyanarayana Replaces Rajaiah in Warangal - Sakshi Post

Warangal: Following the tragic fire accident at S. Rajaiah's house that killed his daughter-in-law and three grandsons at Warangal on Wednesday, the Congress party changed its candidate for the Lok Sabha by-election.

Rajaiah also expressed his inability to contest the election after the accident.

Former central minister Sarve Satyanarayana who earlier represented Malkajgiri constituency filed his nomination as the Congress candidate. Wednesday is the deadline for filing nominations. Sarve arrived in Warangal within hours after the party high command asked him to file the nomination and completed the procedure within the deadline. TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy rushed to Warangal to oversee the nomination process.

Sarve Satyanarayana was elected to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for 1985-89, elected to the Lok Sabha from Siddipet constituency in 2004 and from Malkajgiri constituency in 2009.
Generally known for his mild behavior, he recently shocked everyone when he foul mouthed a civil servant (Addl. Divisional Engineer) by finding his name at the bottom while less important leaders were placed above him on the inauguration-plaque of an electrical sub-station.
He even threatened the officer with dire consequences and thrashing by his followers present at the venue. But he apologized for his rude behavior later.

Political career:
He is the national spokesman of the Congress party. He is a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. He was appointed as MoS, Road Transport & Highways on 28 October 2012.
