Sakshi rally against gang-rape draws huge response

Hundreds of people from all walks of life and all age-groups on Wednesday participated in the statewide candle-light rally organised by Sakshi media to protest against the gang-rape in Delhi where a 23-year-old paramedical medical student was raped and brutally assaulted by six men in moving bus recently.

In Hyderabad the main rally on the Necklace Road drew a huge response, women, men, youngsters especially girls came out in huge numbers to show their solidarity with the victim.

Several of them expressed their ire at the inability of the government to ensure safety and security to women. Several of them said death sentence to the offenders is the only way to stop such future crimes.

Rallies were also taken out at Kukatpally,Charminar and Saroor Nagar.

Candle-light march was also held in Kadapa,Kurnool,Tirupati and Vizag.
