Ruling Party Leaders’ Role Suspected Behind Rave Party In West Godavari
Eluru: Two leaders of the ruling Telugu Desam Party were suspected to be the kingpins in the prostitution racket which was organizing rave parties in remote areas in West Godavari district. The district police on Sunday raided a private guest house in Pathepuram village in Nidamarru mandal and arrested 16 men and 10 women for indulging in obscene dances and prostitution. Several bottles of foreign liquor and Rs1 lakh cash were also seized from the spot.
Shockingly, among those caught include teachers and students from various colleges in Bhimavaram, Nidamarru and Ganapavaram. Four revellers, reportedly enjoying high-level connections with the political leaders and top bureaucrats, however, fled the scene after police raids began on the premises.
However, the four men, who escaped, are relatives of ruling party leaders and the police were suspected to have helped them flee the spot. At around 11.30pm on Sunday night, a police team raided the guest house, which is located 50km away from the district headquarters Eluru. They found drunk men and women dancing inappropriately and indulging in group sex.
"The women were brought from Vijayawada and Hyderabad. We filed a case against them and will soon produce them in court," Nidamarru circle inspector Durga Prasad said. Sources said one Giriraj organised the party with the cooperation of guest house owner C. Chinnamurthy Raju. Both the organiser and Raju are on the run.
After interrogating the accused, police found that some of revellers brought their sons to the party.
All the 10 women have been sent to a rescue home in Eluru. The raids were conducted under the supervision of district SP Bhaskar Bhushan and DSP Venkateswarao.
