Roger Federer Wins His Sixth Australian Open

Roger Federer wins Australian Open 2018 Championship three sets to two over Marin Cilic. This is sixth Australian Open title for Federer and 20th Glrand Slam title in his career. With this title the Swiss becomes the only fourth player in the world to win 20 or more major titles, the earlier three are Margaret Court, Steffi Graf and Serena Williams.

In a well fought battle that lasted for five sets and for over three hours, Federer over with 6-2, 6-7, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. After a bad start by Cilic, he picked up and in the fourth set he was proving to be much better than Federer, but finally the Federer held his nerves together and wrapped up the final set with grit and determination.

This is sixth Australian Open title and equals the record with Roy Emerson and Novak Djokovic. Importantly this victory will bring him back close to world no 1 spot, just 155 points away from Rafel Nadal.
