RGV Has High Praise For Arjun Reddy’s Director, Calls Hero A ‘Real Power Star’
After he took Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao head-on, controversial director Ram Gopal Varma made some interesting comments on 'Powerstar' Pawan Kalyan.
Varma heaped praise on young hero Vijay Devarakonda saying that he is 10 times better in star charisma and 20 times better in performance when compared with Pawan Kalyan. He further stated that Vijay Devarakonda should be given the title — Real Power Star for his extraordinary performance in the movie Arjun Reddy directed by Vanga Sandeep Reddy.
Relating to his blockbuster movie - Shiva which was released in 1990, with the present day movie 'Arjun Reddy', the director said that the fundamental difference between Shiva and Arjun Reddy are shot division and characterisations. "AR is much more identifiable and relatable in every sense when it comapared to Shiva," he commented.
"Personally, I could identify with seven or eight scenes from AR which happened in my own life and that's the connectivity I am talking about. I was also impressed with the ability of Sandeep Reddy to evoke so much heroism without any heroics in any scene ..its commendable on both the directors and actors part that they could so resist the temptation to crossover into widely believed and universally accepted commercial cliches," he commented.
The highly unconventional casting is just one of the many break throughs the film Arjun Reddy has managed to overcome. Me being too long used to a stereotype way of thinking, when I first saw Shalini in her introduction scene, I was aghast that anyone can think of her as heroine material but by the time the film reached interval I felt there could be no one ever who could be better than her, RGV said.
